About Radiosport Live

Make radiosport easier to see, understand, and enjoy.

Radiosport Live is a developing live-broadcast project focused on amateur radio contesting, education, community, and the stories unfolding inside stations around the world.

Our mission: create an engaging, entertaining, educational, and accessible live-streaming destination dedicated to amateur radio contesting.

Why Radiosport Live?

A contest contact may last only a few seconds. Behind that exchange are decisions about propagation, band choice, antennas, equipment, rate, strategy, teamwork, and timing. A traditional score or log captures the result, but not the story.

Radiosport Live is being designed to tell that story by combining station feeds, radio audio, live scoring, commentary, maps, and explanations that help viewers understand what is happening and why.

Who is it for?

Curious viewers

Operators who have heard contests on the bands but have never felt comfortable jumping in.

Active contesters

Experienced radiosport operators interested in sharing strategy, station design, and the reality of contest operating.

The wider amateur radio community

Clubs, youth groups, experimenters, and anyone interested in the technology and teamwork behind competitive radio.

Understanding the scores

Our planned broadcasts will explain the competition using available station reports. Displayed scores and positions may be delayed or incomplete and are not official adjudicated results. Missing reports do not necessarily mean a station is inactive.

  • Reported score: the score supplied by a station, before the contest organizer checks logs and publishes official results.
  • Class placement: a station's position among available reports in the same contest class. Meaningful comparisons depend on contest category, including operating mode and power where applicable.
  • QSO rate: the pace of radio contacts over a stated time period, calculated from available reports. Gaps in reporting are not measured zero activity.
  • Multipliers: qualifying countries, regions, or other entities that contribute to scoring. The definitions and scoring rules vary by contest.

These explanations are planned for broadcast coverage; this website does not currently provide an interactive scoreboard.

Our approach

The focus is not simply on elite competition. We want to show the fun, the successful moments, the failed ideas, the difficult conditions, and the choices operators make in real time. The broadcast should feel welcoming enough for a newcomer while still being interesting to an experienced contester.
